There's not really any question that zombie movies reflect left-leaning politics.

Wait, what?

I, for one, haven't really given much thought to the political leanings of zombies, or of the political ideological ramifications of zombie hunting. However, our friends on the right apparently have:

I use "the right" in this case, not as an indication of my distaste/disapproval or whatever of conservatives. I'm using "the right" in this case to refer to the batshit insane people on that side of the spectrum.

Let me follow this argument out to the logical extent:
The "progressive" forces (scared, bleeding survivors...okay I'll consider that the proletariat for the moment) are faced with hordes of brainless shambling hordes...who are then...the...uh...also the proletariat as near as I can tell. Unless they mean Fox News watchers. In which case Romero was remarkably talented at reading the future.

However, if that's the case the elitist survivors shouldn't be smashing the shambling horde with machetes, instead they should be standing on soapboxes lecturing them and trying to "cure" them of zombieness. Solving your ideological differences by smashing people with heavy objects seems pretty reactionary to me personally.

Also, zombie movies seem to be bright shining beacons of "castle laws" and total deregulation of arms. I know when I wade through a zombie horde I'm terribly glad that my second amendment rights in this instance have been expanded to include all sorts of incendiary and explosive devices, along with an abundance of high power rifles. I might be an ivory tower elitist, but those seem like pretty right leaning political opinions to me.

Oh and abortions. Zombie movies hand out free abortions to ever 3rd ticket buyer. That might explain where they're getting this leftist flavor.

What a Republican/Democrat debate may look like:
